Empowering Youth Through Neuroscience.
Our mission at YNS is to talk with kids about neuroscience topics and to empower them to learn more about the human brain and its various functions.
We will regularlly visit schools and classrooms to give fun talks or host events in which students can participate in and learn from.
The goal of our events are to raise early awareness on important topics such as mental health, illnesses, as well as addiction and for students to clearly understand the brain level processes behind our actions.
Sumeng is a Freshman at Valley Christian High School. She founded YNS to inspire early discussion with children about relevant neuroscience topics and the true brain level processes of our daily functions, hoping that the topics will bring them a new comprehensive point of view on the world and the people around them. She believes that even little changes such as being more inclusive of peers with mental disorders, or even preventing drug use in individuals will make a imapct to the community. Aside from neuroscience, Sumeng is also intrested in psychology, art, and programming.
Yiran is a Freshman at Valey Christian High School. She has always been interested in the field of sciences and biology. Her favorate part of biology is studying the brain and it's funcions. Aside from this, she is also dances ballet and likes to draw cartoons.
Yunxi is a Freshman attending Irvington High School. She is eager about helping the community and childeren with accsessing better education. Yunxi likes to explore new subjects and is hoping to further expand her knowledge on neuroscience. She also plays the tuba for her school marching band
